- Vallaki, Suvaha and Kunduruki in the classical lexicons.
Salai, Salai Guggul and Sallaki
View all: Herbal Capsules · Ghrithams · Vati and Gulika
The borrowed word
Salai guggul carries the word guggul, which properly belongs to a different resin, the Guggulu of Commiphora. The two are both resins and both classical, which is precisely how the word travelled. They are not the same material, and the comparison guide separates them.
In English
Shallaki is sold as Indian frankincense, and the frankincense family connection is real, which the frankincense guide covers.
On the label
Shallaki Capsules state Boswellia serrata, which none of the above ambiguity touches.
