Laksha, known as Lac, is a classical Ayurvedic material - the natural resin secreted by the lac insect (Laccifer lacca) on its host trees, collected and processed to a fine material. Because it is secreted by an insect, Laksha is animal-derived and is therefore not vegan. It is a raw material used as advised by a qualified Ayurvedic practitioner.
